Dusty Pendleton, owner of Retro Detailing in Bowling Green, OH, has been certified by the International Detailing Association (IDA), becoming the first female IDA Certified Detailer in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.
Pendleton has owned Retro Detailing LLC for 4 years this August 2022. Her husband, long-time BG resident Doug Pendleton Jr., also an IDA-certified detailer (International Detailing Association), left his job after 20 years with Yark Ford to join her in their shop full time.
“Earning this for our shop was really important to me,” said Pendleton about the certification. “Our shop is owned and operated by our family and we’re so proud of it!”
According to the IDA website, the-ida.org, “The CD designation is a great achievement and demonstrates a basic mastery of the knowledge and applied skills needed by the detailing professional. The pride of earning the CD designation places that detailing professional among a group at the top of their profession.”
“It requires a sustained commitment and was costly for us,” Pendleton said, “but it shows our customers that we’re dedicated, well-trained, and committed to perfecting our craft.”
Retro Detailing started in August 2019. The shop is currently located at 540 S. Maple St in Bowling Green, OH. Retro Detailing also accreditation from GTechniq as a certified ceramic coating installer, is an official CarFax CarCare Center.
Between Dusty and Doug, they have a combined 28 years of detailing experience.

The family-owned and operated auto detailing shop offered free interior disinfectant treatments to local first responders and medical staff.
This week, they received a certificate from the Ohio Treasurer’s office recognizing the auto detailing shop for their “compassionate and dedicated service” that “exemplifies the qualities of a truly outstanding business committed to the community.
Retro Detailing owners, Doug & Dusty Pendleton, announced in April that any first responders or those on the “front line” will receive a FREE disinfecting treatment to their vehicles.
For these vehicles, Retro Detailing will use an Ozone machine for between 7-12 minutes depending on the size of your car. We then air it our for 10 minutes to rid the interior of the Ozone molecules.
After, we disinfect the 12 “hot spots” of the car, including your keys & fob, door handles, buttons, steering wheel, and more.
We wear gloves and an N95 mask during the entire process to ensure that your car stays at germ-free as possible.
